Skott Burkland

What’s 50 years between friends?  Following graduation from Dickinson College with classmate Jane Jackson, I went on to The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Graduate School of Business.  I ran out of money and grades and had to find a job as Carolyn Crowl and I were married following undergraduate studies.  Carol taught elementary physical education and I went to work for DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware.   Six years of National Guard, three daughters, several corporate positions and relocation to northern New Jersey all occurred before I started Skott/Edwards Consultants in New York City in 1974.

Skott/Edwards Consultants is a retained executive search company specializing in executive coaching and the recruitment of senior level executives in the emerging life science industry, otherwise known as biotech.  This has been an extraordinary career having the opportunity to work with some of our country’s most gifted healthcare professionals.

Carol and I parted company after 22 years and remain good friends.  We are grandparents to 6 beautiful children living in New Jersey, Atlanta and Vancouver.

Currently, I am married to Cindy, live on the Jersey shore, still enjoying working but have more time to enjoy life and my hobby of high speed endurance race car driving.  People at the track call me “Sparky Burkland”.  Look out NASCAR!!
