Life after Penncrest began by leaving Pennsylvania and heading to the Midwest for four years of college at Wittenberg University earning a B.S. in Education to teach.

Returning back to Media in June of 1964 to marry my high school sweetheart, Skott Burkland, after our college graduations.  Skott went on to grad school and I began teaching Health and Physical Education following in the footsteps of my favorite mentors, Lou and Debbie Scott.  Did I mention coaching field hockey in there too?

We lived in Landsdowne, PA ... then in Wilmington, DE and then off to Mountain  Lakes, NJ for many years.  In those years between 1966 and 1972 GOD blessed us with three wonderful, normal, beautiful daughters who really turned out to  be great adults.  Today they are married to three great men and each has two children who all now live on the same continent.  This makes visiting our six grandchildren much easier these days.  Many years were filled with trips and travels and our family hobby of sailing.  Our "all girl crew" did a decent job of sailing the Long Island Sound and  the Caribbean, etc.  Our biggest adventure had to be sailing our boat from NY to Bermuda and back to NY in '83. Sadly ,in 1988, our thirty year relationship ended in divorce.

Time moved on and so did we.

I went back to teaching school and as life moved ahead GOD had plans for many different paths to cross.  In the early '90's I met a wonderful godly man, the father of three adult children and my life changed completely.  Brian and I married on the 4th of July 1992 and we became a "Blended Family".  The big picture now includes our six married adult children with nine grandchildren ( and two grand-daughters due in July 2010... making that 11 grandchildren total).

So many wonderful highlights over these last 50 years, but we can share these when we are together.  The very biggest highlight is the PRAISE that goes to GOD !! For it is GOD who healed me from Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer and allowed me here these last wonderful 14 years !!!  THANK YOU GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
