Life stays the same, yet changes. We moved 2½ years ago to Secane, after living in Media (Upper Providence) for 30 years. Before that we lived in Syracuse, NY – the snowiest city in the US – for 10 years. I question the validity of that statement after this past winter here in Delaware County! I’m still working for the county – have now been there 10 years and will get my 10 year pen or watch or whatever they give you on the 29th of April at a luncheon at the Towne House. Then, finally, the day will arrive when I retire. The actual date will be November 24th of this year – the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I certainly will have a lot to be thankful for THIS Thanksgiving! Will be married for 45 years this September, and yes, still to the same guy! Son, Bret, class of ’94 and a graduate of Kutztown, heads up the Social Studies Dept. at Bristol High School and teaches 9th grade. Received his 1st Masters in Education from Widener and is now completing his 2nd in History at LaSalle. Also, teaches on-line at the University of Phoenix. He has given us a little 3 year-old granddaughter named Megan. How come everybody out there says their grandkids are the cutest and the smartest, when it’s actually mine?! In my last bio, I stated that I wanted to retire and write in a quaint little cottage nestled on a cliff on the rugged coast of Maine, even though I had never been there. Well, now I’ve been there – Bar Harbor, and love it enough to retire, live there forever and write. However, I will be content, at this point, just to write. I’m finishing up a 2½ year course in writing children’s literature, will get my diploma in just a few short months and receive my very 1st college credits! I’ve had just a few devotionals published, but by the time I write my next bio for a Penncrest reunion, hope to have my Haiku, my kids stories, and more devotionals published, as well! I'm off to start my 2nd career and couldn't be more excited or thankful!
