Sue Felton Weyland

Sue Felton

After graduating from  Penncrest,  I went on to College and was graduated from Penn State University in 1964. My major was Social Welfare and I worked three years as a caseworker. My husband and I have been married since 1965. Drew was military so we moved frequently (OH,IL,TX,NV,MA. )We have two adult children and 5 grand, grandchildren. When Drew retired after 22 years we moved to CO and he worked for Lockheed Martin as an Systems Engineer. He retired again after 10 years when we built a home in Parker 20 miles SE of Denver ( the first Pony Express stop ) We now are both retired and enjoying our 5 acres of Yucca and Beaver Tail Cacti and a panorama view of the Rocky Mountains.

Funniest thing that ever happened to me:
My husband a military officer was transferred from TX to Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. Why was this funny? We do not drink or gamble etc. Everyone laughed because that it was the Weylands who were given this AF assignment. Actually it was fun to go to church in a Casino and know church friends who worked on the STRIP. We made good friends of our neighbors and our two kids played with their kids. Their professions differed a lot from the typical Media  resident's profession - example, professional gambler at Caesars Palace, almost nude dancer at the Dunes etc. They were great neighbors and we certainly liked them as much as any neighbor we could have had Middletown Township.    P.S.and we never gambled once.

Most memorable Event - I was privileged to take three trips to Israel and live with Israelis and Palestinians. Why was it so memorable to me? I came to believe that the Jesus of the Bible when I was  15 years old and believe He died and rose again so we can have eternal life and peace and purpose  in this life.To walk and live in Jesus' land made the Bible come alive for me and brought reality to my faith.
