Phil McLaughlin
I was born Oct. 1, 1941 at Chester Hospital with an Immigrant-Irish Dad and an American Mom. I lived my entire life in Media until I came to Fair Acres in 2003. I worked for 8 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad and was responsible for the safety of the crew and trains on a 300 mile stretch from Virginia into central PA. I later worked for Hertz Car Rental in Media. Through the years at Fair Acres, I've been active in many areas: gardening, Rep. council, variety shows and chairing AA Meetings. My Life has been one of faith, friends and most importantly, sobriety. After a severe stroke in 2003, I worked to bring myself back and attended all kinds of community events in Media - political, patriotic, fire company, etc. Now that my Parkinson’s has worsened, the old wheelchair has got me and I don't get as far or as fast as I used to! Hope to see you at our brunch on Sunday! |
